  1. Limit application to disk space

The disk space reporting is very helpful. It would be even more helpful to limit application to a specified disk space.

  2. Push and Pull Individual Tables and Folders between staging and live environment

Hello team, pushing and pulling individual tables and folders between staging and the live environment is better compared to transferring the entire database or files. Because in Woocommerce, pushing the database might lead to loss of orders made in between.

  3. Redirect module in cloudways

Would be great with a redirect module manager in cloudways just as kinsta to saftely handle redirects directly into the nginx and server. Instead fo messing with htaccess which can be reset by plugins etc. Safe way of adding redirects to the server:

    https://kinsta.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/add-redirect-rule.png

And make it possible to tag and categorize them and specify if only live domain, both or only staging. The module should work on application level and not server level. Since users might use more than one application on the same server (not recommended) but some do.

Please cloudways this would be a great feature.

  4. You must Add reset permissions to application level via UX

Most times your support does any work on my behalf the permissions get messed up and then have to recontact support to set permissions to application level. This is an extremely frustrating restriction on the user and is making me consider to switch hosts. I really suggest you add a self serve option to the UX sooner rather than later.

  5. Auto Scaling WordPress

We need to implement Auto-Scaling WordPress applications quite often which can auto-scale depending on traffic load.

  7. Allow apps to be installed on subfolder urls

It should be possible to install an app and set its 'primary domain' as a subfolder of a domain; e.g. domain.com/some-app.

Ideally you should be able to simply set the 'primary domain' as a subfolder but if that's not possible the Cloudways stack should allow Reverse Proxy to be setup on the server in order to achieve the same thing.

At the moment, the only way to achieve this is to hack the Cloudways setup by creating up an app on a bogus url and then physically moving that app into the app folder of your route app. This unfortunately…

  9. Ability to name folders upon application creation or rename w/o symlink

Folders are difficult to identify when accessing via FTP, and changing the name results in an additional symlinked folder which results in more clutter (e.g. 100 sites -> 200 folders). Would be nice to have a better way to name these initially or rename without a symlink. I know config files for nginx and apache would likely have to be rewritten but I would think that this could be done programmatically.

  10. App containers

In 2019 it is absolutely a must to be able to use servers as app containers. If you are not gonna implement Docker support I suggest you enable us create apps as app containers.

So if I have one server to be able to create app specific config. It means one app can have certain version of php, mysql, node, npm, git, python, and another app completely different versions of them.

Now all apps from one server must have the same set of tools and languages which force us to use the oldest versions for our new apps because of…

  12. Update requirements for Magento 2. Can't create staging environment.

When trying to create a staging environment for my Magento 2 application I am getting the warning that my application doesn't support PHP 7.2 while it does by default. The message:

The deployed versions of PHP or MySQL on your server are incompatible with your application’s requirements. To continue, you’ll first have to update the following from Settings & Packages area:
Change your PHP version to 7.0 or 7.1.

Please change the requirements so that I can successfully create a stating environment for my application. Support told me to open feedback here I really don't know why.

  14. Add ClassicPress to the apps list

With the introduction of Gutenberg and the new direction WordPress is taking, it might be a good idea to add ClassicPress to the applications list.

ClassicPress is a hard fork of WordPress version 4.9.8 the last version to include the text editor as default.

  15. Database settings available as environment variables

It would make site configuration much simpler if the configuration for an application's database host, user and password could be retrieved from the application's environment rather than having to cut'n'paste and hard-code them into configuration files in the document root.

  16. Be able to change the Application Admin Panel Credentials

    Exactly what the title says!

Its very practical to be able to change the password in the Admin Panel section of Application's Page. Like so anyone who has access to cloudways panel can have access to the Applications Dashboard fast and easily without searching for the password!

  19. Allow underscores and hyphens in Webroot value

The regex pattern for the Webroot value currently doesn't allow hyphens or underscores which are valid for directories.

If you're running a repository structure that has public_html for instance for site files, you'll not be able to set this as your Webroot even though it's the most logical folder name when using something like Vagrant locally.
