floating IP
Hi,
I have noticed that Digital Ocean released floating IP's about a month ago. Will this be incorporated in the Cloudways Platform in the near future? This will be ideal for HA applications.
Thanks
Jean3 votesJean, we try as hard as we can not to add provider specific features in our platform. That would mean adding complexity and locking certain features to certain vendors, something we definitely don’t want (same happens with AWS, GCE …).
To create a certain level of high availability on top of our platform, you could use DNS Made Easy fail-over failure http://help.dnsmadeeasy.com/dns-failover/configure-dns-failover/ (you would need to get your own DNSMadeEasy account, as we don’t support failover via our add-on). In any case, the issue of database sync would remain.
In our road-map, we have working on a highly available and auto-scalable option for the platform as a high priority.

Custom wordpress installer
Hi guys,
I would like to create a 'blueprint' wordpress installation with my custom themes and plugins installed. This would speed up my workflow because I don't have to install my default themes and plugins.
Thanks
Stijn
3 votesStijn this is easy to achieve already with current features.
Create a server in an infrastructure provider that doesn’t charge for stopped servers (or better said just charges for disk usage, i.e. a t2.small on AWS).
Deploy whatever plugins, themes you need or usually use for your baseline deployments in this server.
Use this server as template. Clone this server to same or another infrastructure provider that you usually use. Stop the template server (minimal charges, just disc). Develop any project on the cloned server.
When you need to start another project, start the template server, clone again …
If you now use a new plugin on your base deployments. Start template, update it, clone and stop …
Hope it works.

Add Reverse DNS! Emails sent to Gmail from Wordpress end up in spam otherwise
Reverse DNS prevents emails sent from a Cloudways server to be marked as spam. I have my DNS records pointing to my Cloudways server. However, I want Cloudways to point back to the records too.
Gmail loves classifying unauthenticated email as spam meaning that all my WooCommerce order emails go unseen! Several customers are complaining about this since migrating to Cloudways.
Rackspace have this implemented already, it's easy to use. Get inspiration here: http://www.rackspace.com/knowledge_center/article/create-a-reverse-dns-record-0#setup
Thank you, if this was working Cloudways would have a bullet proof solid ecommerce platform offering!

Upgrade OpenSSL!
phpinfo() reports the OpenSSL version to be 1.0.1e. This is a security hole that needs to be fixed. Please update to the latest version.
1 voteHi there,
Our servers are fully and regularly patched and have all latest Debian stable (Wheezy) security updates.
The version we deploy is:
ii openssl 1.0.1e-2+deb7u13 amd64 Secure Socket Layer (SSL) binary and related cryptographic toolsAnd you can check here that this is the latest openssl release in Wheezy (stable) with the proper security patches:
https://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=opensslWe precisely chose Debian for the strong security and stability culture that the community has.

Update Varnish to 5.0 in order to support HTTP/2
It would appear that Varnish 4.0.2 (which is on my server at www.bizi.fit) does NOT support HTTP/2. The recommended configurations are to enable HTTP/2 (which I have), and to use Varnish caching (for performance).
Are there any plans to upgrade Varnish to 5.0 (or perhaps upon request), in order to actually support HTTP/2. Currently, I can only get use out of HTTP/2 if I DISABLE Varnish cache.
34 votesIn our provided WebStack ( nginx → varnish → apache ).
Since Nginx (which has support of HTTP/2) is in front this eliminates a need of upgrading varnish to 5.0 as far as HTTP/2 is concerned.
In case you are seeing issues please open a ticket through support panel, we will be happy to assists you further.Regards,

List application in servers.
It doesn't make a lot of sense that applications are not listed under server settings. This seems like a logical addition.
1 voteFrom the main server screen, you can access the list of all applications installed on the server via the quick access icons on the top right (www, project and team).

Automatic scaling be available on all Cloud Hosting
Auto-scaling is now available on Kyup. Wish it would be available on Digital Ocean, Vultr, AWS, and Google as well
1 voteUnluckily this is a feature related to the provider not to Cloudways. Kyup has an infrastructure that allows for auto-scaling on a single server. None of the other providers offer this capability, so we can’t integrate it.

Make a reasonable price.
Vultr starts at $5
DO starts at $5
Kyup starts at $10Why is there $9, $7
And $21.11Basic price of your service is confusing. Managed vultr adds 4, managed do adds 2, managed kyup adds 11.11. Why? You should have same service price, flat rate for every providers. Also the price just increased, and your customer service doesn't improved as you promise.
1 voteWe have different deals with the different providers based on volume and other factors, and this reflects in the final price for the service (so approximately, the platform charges over base price per server size are the same across providers).

It's better if u add Ubuntu with phpmyadmin

https://www.cloudways.com/blog/installation-phpmyadmin/As for base OS, we use Debian and we don’t have plan to change that in the short term.
