2. Improve Staging Environment

   I want to establish a workflow where all content changes and Wordpress updates are exclusively done on the staging website. Neither my clients nor I make changes directly to the live domain ever. This is to prevent any crashes and costly downtime. My plan is to manually push the staging environment to live on a monthly basis.

   For updates, I want to use SafeUpdates. However, the current issue is that SafeUpdates can only run on a live domain. This contradicts the entire workflow I want to create, as it would lead to conflicts when pushing staging to live. To avoid this, I want SafeUpdates to run exclusively on the staging environment. The result would be that all updates and modifications are made on the staging environment, keeping it ahead of the live domain. I would then manually push staging to live each month.

   Ideally, with this workflow, there would also be a button to easily remove or hide all WordPress login functionality from the live domain to prevent any logins there, since all modifications and updates are done on staging.

   TLDR: Add safeupdates to Staging, and idealy add a button to disable all WP login functionality on live domain

3. Editable Application Username + Password in Cloudways UI

   There was a post with 72 votes in 2020 and the status was set to planned but nothing has come of it in almost 5 years.

   The cloudways application username is uneditable which is an issue because it's incorrect in alot of applications, specially cloned ones. This has been an issue when selling my first website hosting business as the new owner couldn't access the site using the listed details. It's also an issue in my current business because the username is returned in the cloudways API which means anything relying on the API and username doesn't work also.

   Is this something that is being worked on still?

   This is when adding a wordpress application via cloudways GUI, I suggest you implement a fix to wp-config.php so you don't break the WP CLI? As a fix I remove the wp-salts.php file and add salts in the old fashioned way.

   At present, Breeze does not respect content-negotiation, which impacts plugins like the Automattic ActivityPub plugin which serves different content-types from the same path depending on the "Accept" header. Instead, whatever content-type was requested first "wins". This results in either people seeing JSON instead of HTML in their browser, or Fediverse clients being served HTML instead of JSON.

   Some WordPress page-caching plugins do have explicit support for the "Vary" and "Accept" headers, including WP Super Cache, Cachify, and Surge. These plugins won't cache non-HTML versions of a page, and they don't accidentally serve the HTML version to non-HTML user-agents. So their code may be a good reference point for implementation.

10. Allow Single Email Account to Own and Join Multiple Sites

    Hello Cloudways Team,

    I've been thoroughly enjoying your platform's capabilities and everything it has offered in terms of performance and user experience. However, I've encountered a limitation that I wanted to bring to your attention, as it has significant implications for my workflow as a consultant.

    I am the owner of a small consulting company and handle my own website hosted on Cloudways. Recently, I was invited to join my client's ecommerce project as a team member on your platform. Unfortunately, I was unable to accept the invitation because my email is already registered as an owner of another site. This system design presents a significant inconvenience since, as a consultant, I need to own my site and simultaneously be a member of my clients' sites, who rightfully need to maintain ownership of their respective projects.

    To work around this issue, I had to create a second account with a different email address, which is not ideal for managing my projects efficiently. Other service providers, like Pantheon, allow a single email account to be linked to multiple roles across different sites, which is incredibly beneficial for users like myself who manage multiple projects.

    I believe that enabling a single email to function both as an owner and a member across different sites would greatly enhance the user experience and flexibility of Cloudways, especially for consultants and developers who operate across various teams and projects.

17. The worst support and most unreliable hosting service for WordPress

    Dear Friends,

    I have been using CloudWays for more than a year now and I have very honest feedback here for anyone planning to host WordPress websites. Cloudways support and hosting service is very very unreliable and they do not respect their customers at all, its my personal experience with CLOUDWAYS.
    I had a very very bad experience. I requested from the billing team, prior to my hosting expiry date, that I need a billing extension as we are a startup and our funds will arrive in one week’s time. Mr. Ovais, a cloudways support member, gave me an extension for a week and assured me that services will stay active for one more week and then you can pay the bill. But friends when I woke up the next day, Cloudways had deleted all my servers and 50+ website instances. I was buried 100 feet down when I came to know this. I immediately contacted the support again, then Mr. Ovais told me that we have no clue how the system has deleted the servers and all websites. So he insisted that I pay the due bill and then only they will recover lost servers. But then again after paying and it did not recover the servers to their original state, the website did not start.
    Now they tell me that your previous servers are lost and now you have to start the DNS mapping for each domain and email, so guys this was a work of 2-3 days and then still no good promise that all servers and websites will be in original shape again.

    Cloudways actually help people spoil their good going business. They don't care how much effort we as customers make to build our small businesses and just for the sake of their timely bill collection, they literally blackmailed us and destroyed the hard work of months.

    I would highly warn you guys to not consider this Cloudways very unreliable and non-accountable hosting service for WordPress.

    Please stay away from Cloudways. Switch to any reliable service like Hostinger, WPengine, AWS, Digital Ocean as at least they care for their customers.

    The issue is that when I launch a new site it is launched at WordPress 6.2 and right after the launch it automatcally updates to WordPress 6.3 and for that reason the maintainance files comes up.

    I'd like to report a bug with your staging/clone tool. When Cloudways makes a staging website, it does a search & replace on the database to update the the website domain.

    When it does this, it uses the domain that is configured in the application on Cloudways, not the siteurl which is configured in WordPress database. This can cause issues where the database is not changed correctly.

    Here is an example:

    1. Set up domain in Cloudways as "example.com"
    2. Import website with URL "www.example.com" in WordPress database
    3. Create staging website
    4. Staging website ends up as "www.wordpress-XXXXXX-XXXXXXX.cloudwaysapps.com" when it should be "wordpress-XXXXXX-XXXXXXX.cloudwaysapps.com"
