  1. Hosting email addresses

Every hosting provider I have used allowed me to create as many email addresses as I wanted without an extra cost.

At the moment, I need to pay for two servers because on your server I need to pay monthly for each email account. I have one server with you (I host my websites on it), and the other with another company (I host on it the email addresses for these sites.

Could you make my and other life easier by adding an option in the app console for creating and hosting email accounts?

As other users pointed, we have partnered with Rackspace to offer mailboxes at a very discounted rate (best pricing for very reliable Rackspace Email mailboxes that you will find anywhere).

    More information here:
    https://www.cloudways.com/en/addon/rackspace-email-hosting.php

We don’t have plans to support deploying mailboxes on our servers as we see email as a completely different service than web hosting, that is what we are trying to be very good at.

  2. Manage rackspace email accounts from within console

The current option to add mailboxes from Rackspace is extremely limited.
The only way to order them, is via a small window and is very limited information.
I have no details at all about current mailboxes, quota usage etc...
Also, the only way to order mailboxes is by TYPING in the details in the window including the desired password for the mailbox???
Afterwards, I get a confirmation back from support with the password in the email.
It's completely unsafe to communicate about passwords this way.

And lastly, there is no control at all about the mailboxes.
    I can't create extra…

OpenCart installation is now available on 1-click. Feel free to give it a try.

  5. Add elastic email log in console

I really like how easy it is to use elastic email in Cloudways. However, there is no way to find out if emails were sent/delivered. We have to chat with support to check if an email was sent.

It would be nice to have an interface in console to view sent email logs.

  6. SPDY

It would be good idea to start implement SPDY from Google. In this time its relatively heavy pressure for https sites (in my opinion its good idea at all). In this case Varnish is out, so put option for SPDY will be logical step for sites using SSL certificates.

  8. Alarm on bandwidth Monitoring by email

Having to pay for a bandwidth that will rely on behavior of internet (such as robot attack, malware, what ever intention...) but not being able to stop the expense is not something anyone would sign for, woudl you?

Therefore, having an alarm on bandwith with a threshold set by us is something to consider. Though the monitoring can be done through SSH , alarm must be done by email since none of us are spending they day watching the bandwidth consumption.

I will not sign for the account for this reason. that is total not acceptable interm of business rules…

It would be nice if we could have a Force SSL option from the control panel for wordpress. Then you would not have to install a ssl plugin or add rules to HTACCESS

  11. WordPress and Woocommerce apps should both use Woo Varnish by default

My suggestion is that all WordPress apps use the Woocommerce Varnish by default.

This way there's no risk of a user installing a normal WordPress app and later installing Woocommerce on it, only to find out that their cart is broken because of Varnish.

    Here is why:

I found out that the WordPress app uses a unique Varnish and the Woocommerce app uses it's own unique Varnish.

I ran into a problem with a WordPress app that I later decided to install Woocommerce on. Once I did, the normal wp Varnish did not support Woocommerce and it broke my cart…

  13. Add multiple domain ssl support for a single application.

I have WordPress MU and I have multiple ssl certificates for the multiple domains but I can't use it within one application, therefore I have to create multiple wordpress instances for the domains.

Very annoying that I can't use WordPress MU with multiple domains with multiple single domain ssl certifications.

We have added a support of SAN in our platform, which will allow you to have a support for multiple domains using single SSL certificate. Having SAN available there won’t be a need of getting separate SSL for multiple domains mapped to a single website.

Moreover, work is already in progress for Let’sEncrypt (freeSSL) to support multiple domains using single SSL.

  14. Support Git push / pull to remote via SSH

The current Git Deployment feature is great but doesn't support committing and pushing changes back to the remote repo. Files are changed when new plugins are installed or media is uploaded and these files will be excluded from the repo if they aren't committed and pushed.

Users could bypass the Git Deployment feature all together and use native Git via SSH if they were allowed access to the .ssh folder. However in order to push and pull to a remote repo via SSH, Git needs to write to the .ssh folder which you forbid. I understand you don't want to…

With the new credentials system (http://www.cloudways.com/blog/old-ssh-sftp-user-to-the-new-credentials-system/) recently deployed, you can now use all git functionality via command line (push, pull, clone …).

This will work ONLY for master credentials (https://support.cloudways.com/difference-between-master-credentials-and-application-credentials/) as team members don’t have SSH access anymore.

With master user now, you can create your own .ssh folder, so all git options should be unlocked.

Please note this refers to git execution from the command line and is different from the basic Git Deployment feature integrated with our console (https://support.cloudways.com/using-git-for-deployment/), that will just pull a remote repository from the console, store it locally on the server and sync it with the public_html folder of your application and is aimed at users with basic git needs and not comfortable with the command line.

  16. Please make ElasticSearch ^7.0 releases available

There have been breaking changes since the ElasticSearch 7.0 release.
    For more information see https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/breaking-changes-7.0.html

To use up-to-date applications with ElasticSearch we need at least version 7.0

    Thank you.

  17. Allow account owners/master user to create application credentials directly

I should be able to have full control over my team members. if i want to set their login password i should be able to do it, but as it stands right now I have to bother my user and ask them to perform a password creation step that they shouldn't have to.

I should be able to go to them and say "here is your access" as I don't want them to have access to the Cloudways console, I just want them to have an SFTP login, thats it. Requiring them to login and create their own credentials is…

Thank you for all your votes. We have now made it possible for account owners/master users to create as many application credentials as they like directly, without the need of creating team members first.

Please note that SSH access for applications will need to be enabled from within “Application Settings > General” in order for SSH to work for any application credentials created this way.
