  1. Add Search bar to the new Cloudways dashboard

The new dashboard/interface for Cloudways looks great, but you guys REALLY need to put the search bar back at the top for quickly finding apps and servers. I have too many to simply click through and find them. Until this is added, I'll have to stick with the classic interface.

  2. Client Specific Billing - Allow us to charge clients for App monthly or anually

This feature is a must, I'm surprised it hasn't caught on any attention. I have a server with 25 applications each one for different clients. I have to keep a log of how much each client has to pay every month or year. If we could do this directly in Cloudways it would be great.

  3. Backup Process Improvement

    Hello Team,

As of now there's only one full backup / restore option (Server Management > Backups > Take Backup Now)

Can you please provide some option where the user can take backup as per their requirement, Sometime developer just want to take a backup of the database or hosting files not both all the time.

If you're providing some option where the user can take backup/restore accordingly as of now if we're taking full backup and restoring the full backup it's super time consuming for the bigger websites while they just want to take database backup.

    Hello

We are glad to announce that we have successfully released the Partial Restore functionality on platform

Thanks to the Partial Restore feature, users will now have more granular control on what should be restored, ultimately, being able to accomplish more.

Thanks to this feature, users can now choose to:

    Restore Complete Site.

    Restore Webfiles only.

    Restore Database only.

For more details kindly refer to our Knowledge Base article https://support.cloudways.com/en/articles/5123320-how-to-do-a-point-in-time-restore-of-your-application

  4. enforce https

Please add a feature to the Cloudways dashboard to easily force HTTPS. It's not hard to add a rewrite rule to .htaccess but many platforms such as Kinsta and SiteGround have easy switch for this.

  5. Purge old log files from server in one click

Old log files take a lot of disk space. It would be great if we can remove all old log files from the Control Panel.

We have introduced an Automatic Disk Cleanup feature which addresses this request.

The Automatic Disk Cleanup feature has a tendency to cleanup the server's unwanted files (logs, temporary folder, backups, etc.) that could either be cleared on demand or scheduled to be triggered at a threshold of 80% disk utilization of the server.

More information on this could be found here:

    https://support.cloudways.com/en/articles/5123297-optimize-your-server-disk-space

  6. Create an On/Off Switch for the apps (start/stop apps)

  7. Add elastic email log in console

I really like how easy it is to use elastic email in Cloudways. However, there is no way to find out if emails were sent/delivered. We have to chat with support to check if an email was sent.

It would be nice to have an interface in console to view sent email logs.

  8. Choose what time of the day do Backups

Sometimes I notice high cpu usage in the middle of the day and is because of the automatic backups, would be great if is possible to choose what time of the day doing that.

  9. Auto-Cleaning Option for Logs (Error & Access)

On top of not being able to delete logs ourselves (which should be made possible - as suggested by other feature request), it would be massively useful if there was an option to set a timer for logs (both error & access) to be auto-cleaned.

Even if we can control the error logs to a degree (by fixing the application errors), we can't fully control access logs which is a problem because it literally means that the disk space for app is constantly growing - and if you don't pay attention it could take your site down due to full…

  10. Specify time of day for backups

It would be nice to be able to specify a general time of day for backups to be made. Something like morning, noon, night. Of course to be able to pick the exact hour would be even better.

Right now backups are being made around 9pm local time on my server and that is making things very slow whenever I work in the admin area of wordpress, which is around 9pm in the evening.

    Thanks

  11. Disk Space Details/Quota Per Application

At the Application Tab. Display Application Disk Data and Disk DB usage in numeric stats and Chart.

Purpose - to help us determine what app has increased in size and/or to help manage disk size.

Good news! Application disk usage information and graphs are now live , and we hope it delivers excellent value and simplify disk management for our users.
    https://support.cloudways.com/how-to-view-application-disk-usage/

We understand that this feature was on the wish list of many users and the release comes a bit late than promised. The feature required extensive testing, thus requiring this long for general release.

  12. Backup single applications

Actually, we can take SERVER backups but we can RESTORE single applications. This is good but it would be great if we could also take a backup of a single application.

Consider this : we'll deploy an upgrade but before we want to made a backup that we can restore just after deployment if anything goes wrong.

    • Actually, we need to take a full server backup, which takes several minutes ;
    • I f we could made a backup of this single app, it would take 90% less time.

This could be placed at the same level than RESTORE tab under…

  13. Add dashboard for applications

We have a console for Servers, where we can list all of our servers, enter each one and see the list of Applications on that server (by hitting application management and then viewing the drop-down list)

I'd like a console for viewing all applications, independent of server, so we could find a specific site without having to trudge through each server screen.

It'd simply act as a list of shortcuts directly into the Application Management screen for each.

At the end of the day, we only care about our Applications, that we need servers to host them is incidental, ideally…

  14. Option to download a full application backup from console (web files + database)

I want downloadable backups to transfer them to some other server or our inhouse server.

It is very important to have different locational or different provider to have my backup
as somefine day if something happens to your infra (i really don't wish) but data is crucial and i want to be dead sure
i have 5 customers to refer to but with out option of thirdparty backup they will not get to you

This has now been completed. In Server tab, under Backup section you can now enable “Local Backups”.

This will take, additionally to the off-site backup, a local application backup (both files and database) in the local_backup sub-folder of each application. Just one backup set (latest) will be stored there.

You can automate downloading backups to wherever you want via SSH/SFTP.

We are going to create KB’s and a blog post related to this new feature. Will post links here when done.

  15. Slow initial console login when having lots of servers

I have around 30-35 servers on my dashboard. When we login, it takes around 1 minute to show the list. So everytime I log into CloudWays, it takes around 1 minute to show my server list...It's comming slower and slower as I add new servers.....

  17. Offer a list view of servers (so more compressed view than current)

The dashboard interface of servers are nicely looking, but having more than 4-5 servers it will probably quickly be difficult to get at quick overview.

I suggest making a sort er table like overview alternative on the dashboard which can be toggled between the current verbose one and a compressed one.

  18. Control panel change

For convenience; I would like to change the password and user name shown under ACCESS DETAILS - > ADMIN PANEL; to match my old account details. This is so that when I log into Cloudways, I can quickly navigate between Apps and websites without having to rely on browsers to store passwords for admin panels. This is why I was originally attracted to cloudways, but then realised after migrating that i had to use other logins.

  19. Add a console to manage email aliases

Hello, I suggest you add a console to manage email aliases to arrive in email boxes of created email accounts managed in Rackspace. Other hosts do that, and I like to be flexible with creating aliases. Thx.

  20. allow search by autogenerated app folder name

would be great if i could enter the actual app folder name that is auto generated by your system, into the panel interface search, and have the correct application show. currently it is a giant pain to figure out which app is running high on resources on top without doing a bunch of looking around.
