  1. Possibility to disable xDebug

It is known that in a production environment having xDebug enabled is a performance issue. Having a switch to toggle xDebug would improve most of the production servers where nobody really needs xDebug.

Xdebug is now disabled by default on all servers (new and existing) and you can easily enable/disable it from Server Settings.

  3. Add the higher servers configurations 32 to 64GB RAM 12-20-24 cores

Please add the higher servers configurations from Vultr and DigitalOcean featuring 32 to 64GB RAM 12-20-24 cores.

While I am not ready just yet for them I do need to know that the option will be there when the time comes.

Also may I suggest that you top the managing fee (markup) per server to be close to $100? This would also match Linode current full manage service offer. It's just that 60% markup would make these more expensive servers way too expensive.

    Thanks!

Don, this is already available when launching a new server from console and choosing “I know my server size”.

  4. Configure MySQL thread_stack to 256k

The default and recommended minimum setting for thread_stack on 64bit systems is 256k. The current setting is 192k, which is the default for 32bit systems but the stack is built on 64bit.

This has been implemented for all new servers and we are currently deploying on existing ones.

    Thanks for the feedback.

  5. add elasticsearch service to auto-restart

Our elastic search service stopped for whatever reason and had to be restarted manually. This makes it quite unreliable because when it does happen it can only be restarted manually. Service should auto-restart like all other services.

HTTP2 is now fully supported and available for all browsers. It was activated yesterday.

Customers who already have HTTP2 enabled in their servers, need to disable and re-enable it to update browser support. Other customers, just need to enable it (done from Server Settings in NEW CONSOLE).

    This is now live.

All NEW servers will come with it enabled by default. For EXISTING servers, if you are interested in enabling this feature, please create a ticket in our support portal:

  10. Automatic Scaling

Would be nice if we had an auto scaling feature where the server would automatically upgrade to the next level in the event a site is posted on a news site or all of a sudden got a rush of traffic.

Example the server load is 85% the system knows to upgrade. The downtime for an upgrade on Amazon is about 5-10 mins. That's better than having your site down for an hour because the server is overloaded.

  11. Support Git push / pull to remote via SSH

The current Git Deployment feature is great but doesn't support committing and pushing changes back to the remote repo. Files are changed when new plugins are installed or media is uploaded and these files will be excluded from the repo if they aren't committed and pushed.

Users could bypass the Git Deployment feature all together and use native Git via SSH if they were allowed access to the .ssh folder. However in order to push and pull to a remote repo via SSH, Git needs to write to the .ssh folder which you forbid. I understand you don't want to…

With the new credentials system (http://www.cloudways.com/blog/old-ssh-sftp-user-to-the-new-credentials-system/) recently deployed, you can now use all git functionality via command line (push, pull, clone …).

This will work ONLY for master credentials (https://support.cloudways.com/difference-between-master-credentials-and-application-credentials/) as team members don’t have SSH access anymore.

With master user now, you can create your own .ssh folder, so all git options should be unlocked.

Please note this refers to git execution from the command line and is different from the basic Git Deployment feature integrated with our console (https://support.cloudways.com/using-git-for-deployment/), that will just pull a remote repository from the console, store it locally on the server and sync it with the public_html folder of your application and is aimed at users with basic git needs and not comfortable with the command line.

  13. "Default Application" for server public IP

When I create a $20 Digital Ocean server it's because I'm looking for power! When I host 2+ applications, I'm unable to control which application is attached to the default IP. What if I want application #5 to be the primary website shown when someone visit's the "default ip"?

Under Server Settings & Packages section (Server tab) you can replace mysql with mariadb.

Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure
that all the applications in the server will work with the deployed database.

    Enjoy!
