automatic restart when server goes down
I think it's essential that the servers are fixed so that if they go down they automatically restart the server especially on digital ocean + vultr
A few times I've had the site receive a traffic spike out of the ordinary and it pulled my sites down until I manually rebooted it. It should be automatic.

Update Apache 2.4.28 or later after website failed penetration test
One of our clients recently undertook a penetration test on their site in accordance with their ISO application. It was highly recommended that Apache was upgraded to version 2.4.28 or later as Apache 2.4.10 was reported to have multiple vulnerabilities.
Most large UK based companies will undergo a similar ISO application so this should really be completed.
Thanks!

Node.js/Mongo DB Hosting
I develop using React.js. Node.js/Meteor, as well as MongoDB. I would love to use cloudways to launch and develop applications using this stack. This would be a game changer for real developers. I hope you all work on this soon. Thank you

Have an option to spin up server with no applications + sudo access
Hello,
I think it could be a benefit if there would be an option spin up an empty instance with just the core OS services and files and have sudo access availble for it. That way we can spin up and configure servers to work as smtp relays, reverse proxies, etc.
This could allow more seasoned users to configure a server to do more specific functions not usually applicable to normal use. Also you could leave out the managed service with it since we would be taking on that role with the sudo access.
Not sure how everyone else feels…

Provide an Edit feature for the admin panel URL path name
Vendors (magento) recommend changing the control panel name from "admin" to something else, it would be great if you can provide an edit facility so we can modify the admin URL so that we can launch the control panel from within cloudways as it only permits the default control panel name.

Easy Google G Suite Integration (as SMTP gateway)
Being able to easily integrate G Suite (Google Apps) would be great. We have all of our email setup through G Suite and it is a popular email service. Like the SMTP add-on, but for G Suite.
This goes hand and hand with being able to access the DNS add-on directly.
I don't mind paying extra, but the way things are setup is really confusing.

Sudo commands would be very helpful because many people could use them.

Get a full dump of an application for archiving purposes
My business model in building websites is more similar to Wix, eg., client pays me a monthly fee and I provide hosting and design services. And whenever the client wants to end the contract (or move somewhere else) I get a dump of the files and the database, and then archive it on OneDrive. This is a fairly quick and simple operation via SSH, but it would be nice to have an option on the control panel: "One click full site dump".

Default wordpress config
Please consider modifying the default wordpress wp-config file to include. I have had to manually add that to every install so that visitor IP's are showing up correctly.
if ( isset( $SERVER[ "HTTPXFORWARDEDFOR" ] ) ) {
$SERVER[ 'REMOTEADDR' ] = $SERVER[ "HTTPXFORWARDEDFOR" ];

Add to CloudwaysCDN DDoS Protection and WAF
Now that there is a Partnership With StackPath this shouldn't be hard. Add another option, charge more, but add the possibility please. If you look at the comments about CloudwaysCDN on the Facebook Group and on the blogpost about it you'll see there is a demand for it.

Add ability to set ServerTokens configuration in Apache
Often there is a desire by security teams not to expose verbose information about the versions of software and operating system running on a system. It would be great if the ServerTokens and ServerSignature configuration items were available to silence or minimize the information given. The motivation here is to prevent handing an attacker information about what older exploits might apply or not to your server.

DNS Made Easy - failover records
I am pleased to see that Cloudways offer a "DNS Made Easy" add-on.
However, unfortunately it doesn't include the DNS Failover feature (https://dnsmadeeasy.com/services/dnsfailover/) which is a real shame as that would be an incredibly useful feature.
Cloudways Support clarified that the features provided by the add-on are equivalent to the "Small Business" option that DNS Made Easy offer directly (https://dnsmadeeasy.com/pricing/) rather than the "Business" option.
Please could you consider making the DNS Failover feature available.

Virus Scanner to find infected malicious files
Hi, I have found my wordpress file corrupted by some malicious code due to which our site is running slow. This code was found in all functin.php files. I was not understanding suddenly why site performance got so much degraded. After checking all file and uninstalling plugin then too i didnt find reason for same. After long research i got to know that some code has been uploaded to function.php file. I haven't reseted file permission so its some server security lack that such code was uploaded. Now i want to scan file to check that no more infacted files…

App-level resource monitoring
I'd really like to see the ability to review stats/monitoring on a per-app basis. If we have, say, 5 WP sites running on a server but the server is slow, MYSQL is crashing, etc then we'd be able to check the app monitoring and see which apps are launching processes that are eating up the most RAM/CPU, disk space, and so on. Would help in diagnosing and give us a clear indication of which app needs to be isolated on its own server.

Implement NIXStats as alternative to New Relic which is no longer free
Hi,
Since New Relic is no longer free to use it's no longer possible to see detailed server health in a dashboard view. A free alternative would be NIXstats. https://nixstats.com
I've tested it on one of my own servers and it looks very promising.
Please add this to the CW approved tools.13 votes
