Detect alternative caching plugins (WP Rocket, etc.) before showing the “recommended cache plugin” alert
Hello,
Problem
The Cloudways monitoring raises this alert on WordPress applications: “The recommended cache plugin for your WordPress application is not in place.” The check seems to look only for Breeze. On our application, WP Rocket is installed, active and properly configured, so the alert is a false positive. Support confirmed that WP Rocket is fine to use, which makes the notification misleading.
Impact
Recurring noise in alerts, which can hide genuinely important notifications.
For agencies managing many applications, this means wasted time checking and explaining these alerts to clients.
It suggests that a valid setup is non-compliant.
Proposed solution
Detect well-known caching plugins (WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache, WP Fastest Cache, etc.) and skip the alert when one is active.
Alternatively, add an option to dismiss or disable this alert per application or per account.
Expected result
Alerts are shown only when no caching solution is in place, not when a different supported plugin is used.
Thank you for considering this improvement.
