Allow users to rename application folder

It's great that we can now have a single SFTP account to access all applications on each server. However the randomly generated application folder names, while secure, are not user-friendly. By the time I have looked up which folder corresponds to each application, I might as well have set up an FTP account for each application.

Give us the ability to rename application folders to something meaningful would make the functionality much more useful

    Tiit R, it's a symlink rather than a rename, but you can create a meaningful name now, would be nice to actually rename the folders and name them on creation, but better than nothing.

    Exactly! It is impossible to tell which domain is which when using SFTP when you have a LOT of applications (each corresponding to a separate domain).

    This issue was raised 7 years ago. Desperately need a fix.

    Please add the ability to completely rename the original folder. Otherwise you end up with two, un-deletable folders for one app on the server.

    Yes Petar. What we do is to add a symlink in the same folder with your chosen name for easy reference. So you will have the original folder with the original name and a symlink with the "alias" name pointing to it.

    I've gone into Access Detail and changed the name of the app, but the actual folder name stays the same when accessed via FTP.

    Is this the correct thing to expect?

    Please make it possible to change the Folder names.

    We are going to add the option to "rename" in console, that will be creating a symlink with the chosen name at the file system level (as we directly rename the folder name due to certain internal processes depending on it).
