Add Blacklist section in your security tab
The current server management console, has a n area where we can whitelist our IP address to avoid lockout problems. But could we also get for our servers a blacklist option?
There are multiple WordPress sites I manage. And you have no idea how many hacking attempts I get daily. Being able to block the ip addresses from where these attempts are coming from...could really help us secure our WP sites even more.

Hey,
I have a solution for Blocklists in a CloudWays using CrowdSec.
One that works with a simple WP plugin : CrowdSec Wordpress bouncer
One that allows the installation of a CrowdSec Security engine on your cloudways, bringing and IDS/IPS + blocklist management capabilitiesI'm about to write one or two article about this.
Just tell me if anybody is still interested or if there is an alternative already -

6 years later how is this not implemented?

add a feature that allows block at Nginx level too! because blocking from htaccess is not helping for attacking (IP requests are still raising)

...and it would be great to have APIs to add/remove IPs to the blacklist (that could be integrated in our applications) - something like https://it.wordpress.org/plugins/wp-fail2ban/

I'd like the ability within the security tab of the server to block blacklisted IP's automatically from a list of know sources, that helps non-wordpress sites/applications as well as Wordpress sites. Most of the solutions provided seem to be aimed at Wordpress.
This would mean that all websites and web applications would have the same protection against malicious IP addresses, spamming websites and using up bandwidth, as Wordpress without having to build or find solutions that don't work as well or may not work on the Cloudways platform ( or are too time consuming to be practical, such as blocking IP's using .htaccess).

Yes, +1 - If you have an attack, it would be nice to be able to add ip range to stop.

This is really necessary.
If anyone has an idea of how to overcome the IP blacklist problem without having to copy
order allow,deny
deny from
allow from allblock for each application in the .htaccess file will be great.
Cloudways had an announcement that IP blacklisting has been released but I can't find it in the management console. -

It's great that Bot Protection blocks traffic that meets Cloudways' predefined criteria automatically, but there is other "bad" traffic that continues to get through. It would be helpful to be able to manually block specific traffic that is malicious to our apps. Similar to the "whitelist" function already in place, it would be great to have a second option to blacklist them.

I UPVOTE this idea!
This would be a very good feature to have in the Cloudways panel. -
