This was completed a while ago and you can now use multiple email gateway providers (Mandrill, Mailgun, Authsmtp) via our SMTP add-on.

    Jay, we are going to add the ability of "bringing your own SMTP gateway", so you will be able to use Mandrill or anything else you want.
