Add PHP 7
PHP7 will land soon and smart hosting companies are already supporting it (see Siteground and a handful other competitors).
The speed and performance gains are tremendous. Speed + performance = better website experience and for commercial sites, more revenue.
The first hosting company to get proper staging support, php 7, easy SSL install and SNI support gets my future business. It's no longer okay for hosting companies to lag behind on PHP, holding the web back.
PHP7 is now live. Please note that it is only available (and will continue to be) on Debian 8 servers. If you are running on an older Debian 7 server, you can migrate your application to a new Debian 8 server (where even with php 5.6 you will get better performance) and test php 7 there.

Debian 8 is already in place. PHP7 will follow, most likely before end of Feb.

We are waiting to release the new Debian 8 based servers (end of this month) and for dotdeb to add PECL support for PHP7 (https://www.dotdeb.org/2015/12/04/php-7-0-0-is-available-for-jessie/). Hopefully PHP7 will be available some time in Feb.

Further pressure for PHP 7 here. I'm wondering per your comment, that if you then are offering to switch existing customers over to the new servers? I'll also add my opinion (not to add insult to injury) that CW is lagging in adopting the latest tech and, also staging environments which are par for the course in the market now..

New Debian 8 servers with PHP 5.6 as default and option to update to PHP 7 are not live yet. Aiming end of Dec, early Jan.

I set up a server just a couple of days ago and I don't see php 7 as an option in the packages tab. Am I missing something?

Yes David. As said, NEW servers will come with Debian 8 and with default PHP 5.6. As now, you will be able to update on NEW server from PHP 5.6 to PHP 7 from Packages tab in Server Settings section. Old (current) servers will not have the PHP 7 option, so we will encourage users (who want to use PHP 7 or get the extra performance of Debian 8) to move their apps to new servers.

@Cloudways - after your testing period, will it be available as a selectable option within the server configuration?

This is already in the road map. We are linking it with upgrading the base OS to Debian 8. Hopefully sometime in December both will be available in newly deployed servers (so current applications will need to be migrated to new servers to be on Debian 8 - default php 5.6 - and to test php7). From our initial tests, application owners will have to do quite a few adjustments to get apps working with php7 but the performance gains are quite obvious.

PHP 7 would be great to have, and a must in the short term

PHP 7 is being adopted by developers rapidly. The huge performance boost is one of the biggest reasons. My hosting for future projects need to support PHP 7. If cloudways cannot support this, I'm forced to switch providers. Hope it won't come to this...
