Choose PHP Version for every Application (not for Server)
It should be possible to choose different php versions on a single server. This is possible in most shared hosting environments and is a big advantage.
It is expensive to create a new server only because you need for example an old php version for a specific application which is not compatible.

Please provide option to change PHP Version Applicaton wise.
I know there is opiton to change PHP version server.
As in 1 server there are too many applications. I want some Aplication to run on PHP 7.4 and some Application to run in PHP 8.2.
If i change PHP version on server than it may create problem for some application. Please can you provide this option. -

This is a very important feature.
Why hasn't Cloudway implemented this over the years?
I have applications running on different PHP versions.

We are voting for this feature as well!! Much appreciated!

Maybe adding this feature is very difficult for Cloudways, or maybe if they add this feature it means customers will need fewer servers (i.e. less money for Cloudways in the short term) but long-term this is a must-have feature. I run into this limitation ALL the time.

I have already up voted this but have been asked by my Account Manager, Arsalan Ali, to also add feedback here. This is a much needed feature. I cannot deploy whole new servers every time I want to test and stage a new PHP version

I agree, this is needed urgently, not having this feature is painful and unnecessary, it questions how long Cloudways is a viable solution. it's available on digital ocean maybe I need to go direct as it seems customers have been requesting this for over 7 years. Please implement Cloudways, for me other than this your hosting solution is great! why not truly make it a premium hosting solution.

having the ability to choose multiple php versions either on a server level or application level is an essential feature required. Especially when upgrading applications to meet new requirements. I see this is possible on digital ocean , https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorial_collections/how-to-run-multiple-php-versions-on-one-server-using-apache-and-php-fpm Can this be made available to cloudways digital ocean users

I'm using Cloudways for 7 years now and I'm still waiting for the feature to choose PHP version application wise. Cloudways has been excellent all this time, but I simply can not understand that so many of your users would like to have this basic option and we are all waiting for this from 2016. Please implement this.

I agree this is a needed feature but as of now anything older then php8.1 is EOL with 8.0 EOL in 9 months. You should always want to run and ensure your site is running at minimum one version below the latest to ensure security updates. Any sites you have running older version of PHP that are EOL puts your site at risk.

I recently created my Cloudways account, as it is a great hosting environment, but I didn't realize I couldn't apply different PHP versions to applications. I have some older Wordpress websites that do not function with PHP 8 or 8.1, and the amount of time to update and fix these sites is not something I'm willing to do plugin/theme wise.
The ability to set different PHP versions per application is absolutely crucial, and I'm somewhat surprised you can not select different PHP repos per application. Generally this is an option in most hosting environments and achievable across Linux OS distributions. I hope this is something they are looking into, as this was originally posted in 2016 :(

This is pretty critical as one will have many different applications on one sever and therefor it is quite impossible to get all applications updated in one time. You should have the possibility to do this per application so you need to set php per application.

This is such a must have feature. I have many websites that support different versions of PHP and now I have to pick the lowest common version for the server.
It also makes testing websites on newer versions of PHP impossible since all websites get moved to the new version (and breaking those not ready yet)

It's very important & useable features as their are multiple major stable PHP version support by the PHP authority right now and they release 2-3 new major version in the last year only.

The lack of this feature has actually caused me to start looking at other options. This is a basic feature in almost all inexpensive hosting providers. Why it is not included here I have no idea. Please implement this.

Please implement this as soon as possible. This is a basic feature requirement for most agencies and larger clients. Support's recommendation is to clone an entire server to test every site, which is expensive and highly impractical.
Even the cheapest shared hosting site allows this feature so it's a little hard to digest that a hosting provider like Cloudways has overlooked this. It's shocking to see that we actually need to request this feature whereas it should have been available out of the box.

This is shocking. How can a premium hosting service like cloudways not provide application level PHP version control. Also this makes the new Staging 2.0 completely useless. If i cannot test my application with different configurations for issues before deploying live, the staging is just a redudant installation with no purpose. This completely breaks the core update depoyment cycle and be a performance / security issue. Cloudways, figure out a way to fix this broken infrastructure.

SIX YEARS and no action. This is shocking.... otherwise Cloudways tech support is superb. why on earth a VULTR HF server can't do this is beyond me. I should have checked before I moved dozens of sites here.

It's really sad that Cloudways still misses a feature like this, Cloudways guys - you have to make this real, it's a really basic feature!
