Allow an account to be the owner of one site and a member of another
I am the owner of my own tiny consulting company website. My client invited me by email to be a team member of their massive ecommerce site in cloudways but it fails because "this email is already an owner of another website". I have no idea how you could make the system this poorly designed when everything else rocks. As a consultant I am going to own my own web site and be a team member of a number of client websites (they need to be "owners" of their own sites as I may come and go from their team). I ended up having to make a second account I use to be invited to their site by a different email (yuck!). Your competitors pantheon figured this feature out (although virtually every other feature they did sucked).

I faced an issue with Cloudways where I couldn’t join a client’s eCommerce site because my email is already tied to another site. This limitation forced me to create a second account, which is far from ideal. Competitor Pantheon handles this better, despite their other shortcomings. It would be great if Cloudways could improve this feature.

Allowing an account dual roles enhances flexibility. Similarly, hiring a skilled ghostwriter can bridge different narratives seamlessly, ensuring clarity and cohesion across diverse projects.

The query is about the frustration of a user who owns their own consulting company website and was invited by a client to be a team member of their ecommerce site hosted on Cloudways. However, the invitation failed because the user's email was already associated with another website as an owner. The user expresses dissatisfaction with the system's design, as they believe it should allow an account to own one site and be a member of another. They mention resorting to creating a second account with a different email to accept the invitation, which they find cumbersome. The user compares this experience with a competitor, Pantheon, who apparently has a better-designed feature set despite other shortcomings. https://deliverredtransport.com/

we were originally using a + address (eg [email protected]) to manage clients and users, which no longer worked in the new dashboard, so have now just created a cloudways@ login and ask clients to add that to their site. in addition, all documentation around the API assumes account ownership, and I'm still a bit awkward using a client's API key (which gives full access to their account) to do site deploys...

I too wish I could consolidate our client logins. Right now we have [email protected] as an alias, but it's quite cludgy and it would be much better to just have a single point of contact across our servers and our client servers.

Hello Cloudways community, I've been following the insightful discussions on account ownership and site management, and I'd like to contribute an idea. How about allowing an account to be the owner of one site and a collaborator on another? This approach could provide users with increased flexibility in managing multiple projects efficiently. Imagine streamlining collaboration on shared initiatives while maintaining the autonomy of individual sites. Moreover, I recently came across a fantastic resource for high-quality commercial cleaning images at https://depositphotos.com/photos/commercial-cleaning.html . These images could be a valuable addition to our websites, especially for those in service-related industries. Let's continue brainstorming and refining ideas to make Cloudways an even more versatile platform for all of us.

Came here to say the same thing! Clients want to manage their own billing and account, but also allow a third-party to work on the server and website component. I shouldn't have to create a new email address just to be added as a member to another account. Echoing what's already been said, please make it so one email can be a member of other accounts but also the owner of their own account. One single login.
