  1. start to host Vultr's new High Frequency Compute Packages

The new High Frequency Compute packages from Vultr are a huge improvement over their previous packages at a tiny increase in cost.

Benchmarks of 2413 Geekbench ($5) vs 4883 Geekbench ($6), 25GB vs 32GB storage, high clock CPU's and NVMe Local Storage for just an extra dollar!

Having to use a management solution to host these packages such as runcloud, serverpilot etc is an extra hassle for the average consumer and I have no doubt this will offer a huge surge of customers who are willing to pay for the convenience!

    Many thanks :)

  2. Allow Bills to be sent via Email

Some time ago the billing process used to be that bills were sent via email each month and we would forward these by a rule to our finance system for OCR input.

Now we need to login with 2FA, download the invoice and email it to our finance system. This process takes roughly 5 minutes vs 0 seconds and is a backwards step from an automated process.

Can we bring back the option to have bills sent via email?

We are re-introducing this feature with invoices been send to emails. We have fixed bugs in this process to ensure results.

  3. ability to exclude certain files/folders on staging > live push

This would give the ability to exclude certain staging related configuration files or logs, etc. Would be very helpful for a lot of users I think. If you agree vote up!

  4. Staging - add ability to ignore certain files

Thanks for adding the new staging feature, this is great!

During my testing I discovered that my staging .htaccess file was pushed to live and the result was a 500 error on live. I need to use a slightly different .htaccess file on staging, because I force the www version on live. I couldn't access staging with this rule. So the differences in .htaccess rules caused the error.

It would great if you could add a way to ignore certain files, similar to gitignore.

We have added the expiry date of SSL in the SSL management section of the platform.

  6. Backup (costs): more transparency desirable and possibility to disable the backup service

    1) Backups of server is a payed service. Totally fair, but it is not noted anywhere inside the platform portal. You have to dig like 3 articles deep to find out the actual costs for backup storage. It would be nice if in the server settings this was more transparent communicated.

    2) Once you have multiple servers it is nearly impossible to find out what is actually charged per month for backup storage costs and what is droplet cost. Some reporting on this would be helpfull.

    3) And last but not least, I think backup should be optional. I can…

  7. Multi-tier (more than one server for my application, load balancer, web servers, database server...)

I would love to have the option of setting up a multi-server application for more targeted and cost effective scaling. For instance, Say I could create a Wordpress site with a dedicated DB server, a dedicated load balancer, and a dedicated Web server. As my site grows, I can scale the specific part that is needed. If my site is gets a lot of views (reads), but doesn't make many writes, scaling my existing web server (or adding another instance) may be what's needed. If I'm running a WooCommerce site and start pushing the limits of my db server, increasing…

  8. ALLOW a Single Person (and their email) to be a TEAM MEMBER on MORE THAN ONE ACCOUNT

Allow a way for a SINGLE person (and their email) to be associated as a TEAM MEMBER on more than one account.

At the moment, a person would need to create several different emails to be be a TEAM MEMBER on more than one account.

There should be a GENERAL ACCOUNT console (that doesn't require a hosting/server plan.... however it CAN support a purchased plan if desired) that is separate from any TEAM MEMBER access associations.
On the console you should be able to see all of the accounts you are associated as a TEAM MEMBER on... and access them…

    Thank you for your patience.

This feature is now live on the Platform. You will now be able to add a team member on more than one account.

We will be happy to hear what you think of this improvement.

  10. Allow users to rename application folder

It's great that we can now have a single SFTP account to access all applications on each server. However the randomly generated application folder names, while secure, are not user-friendly. By the time I have looked up which folder corresponds to each application, I might as well have set up an FTP account for each application.

Give us the ability to rename application folders to something meaningful would make the functionality much more useful

  11. Option to DELETE Team Member.

Love the ability to add team member. However there's no way to DELETE a team member. Once this team member is added, his/her email is forever associated as a team member to one Cloudway account and there's no way to use this email username for another Cloudways account. Yikes!

  12. Transfer servers or applications between accounts

I would love to be able to start a new server and transfer it to my client once I'm done so he would be billed for it.
On AWS you can change the billing for a specific stack.

Now you can updated username and password for both Master Credentials and Application Credentials:
    https://support.cloudways.com/which-is-the-difference-between-master-credentials-and-application-credentials/

You can also change the database password (please note that you need to update manually the database password in your applications configuration files).

We don’t have plans to allow FQDN change (FQDN is just meant for you to point your own domain to via CNAME) nor database name / database username changes. These are core to many platform processes and we can’t allow for them to be updated.

  14. Add Support to change the Document-Root of an Application (custom web root)

Allot of modern PHP-Application have several Web-Dir (for example Symfony, Neos etc.) So it should be possible to change the Document-Root on the PHP-Stack. Allow Symlinks as Document-Root would be also great so its possible to deploy applications via capistrano.

This is now live and you can find it in the Application Tab under the rename application folder option.

We are creating a KB for this.

  15. Collect managed migration information via an SSL web form.

The information required for a managed migration being submitted via a plain text email is sub-optimal. Using a web form on the cloudways site would allow the information to be collected and encrypted in transit.

  16. Vultr in Singapore

Vultr has setup in Singapore. You probably could add the location in your setting.

You can leave the field empty and it will deploy it to public_html/. So this functionality is already there.

  19. Add PHP-FPM

Your services do not include PHP-FPM which is very vital for good performance. Frankly, this is the only reason why i am not taking your services after the trial...

  20. Add "favourites" feature for applications

Allow a "favourite application" section, maybe on initial dashboard after login?

Added via a star icon on the application detail screen, and can be removed from favourites on the favourites list, and application detail screen.

So similar to the "ellipsis-hover" list as in you can link directly to apps, but you can set which you'd like to show.

Would be handy when working on a specific pair of projects and need "quick access" to their application pages (rather than multiple clicks - manage server > application management > click list > select list item).

Hope I've explained clear enough :-)
