Better Warning on Server Deletion on Trial Expiration
Cloudways must improve the warning system for trial expiration!! Upon expiration the server is deleted however in many cases the client is using serever as development site before launhing into production. CloudWays should send more email warning of the impending deletion of the server so the client is forewarned to take action beforew losing all their work! Currently there is an email 3 days before deletion but that is not enough there should be a 24 hr, 12 hr and 2 hours prior warnings that server will be deleted.

I strongly agree with this suggestion, and I think it highlights a very real issue that many users may not fully realize until it’s too late. Trial environments on Cloudways are often not just for testing basic features—they are actively used as development or staging spaces where users invest significant time building websites, configuring applications, and preparing projects for production.
The current system of sending a single warning email a few days before deletion is simply not reliable enough. Emails can easily be missed, filtered into spam, or overlooked during busy schedules. As a result, users may lose valuable work without even realizing that the deletion deadline is approaching. This creates frustration and can negatively impact trust, especially for developers and agencies managing multiple projects.
Introducing multiple reminders—such as notifications at 24 hours, 12 hours, and even a final reminder a couple of hours before deletion—would be a simple yet highly effective improvement. These staged alerts would give users enough time to take necessary actions like backing up data, upgrading their plan, or migrating their work elsewhere.
In addition to email notifications, I believe it would be even more impactful to implement in-platform alerts within the Cloudways dashboard. For example, a visible countdown timer or warning banner directly on the server panel would immediately catch the user’s attention whenever they log in. This reduces dependency on email and ensures the warning is seen in context.
Another valuable feature could be a one-time extension or “grace period” option. Even a short extension of 24–48 hours could help prevent accidental data loss, especially in cases where users need just a little more time to finalize or back up their work. Similarly, an automated backup prompt before deletion could act as a safety net for users who forget or delay manual backups.
Overall, this is not just a minor usability improvement—it directly impacts user experience, data safety, and customer trust. Many users rely on Cloudways for professional work, and losing a development server unexpectedly can have serious consequences. Enhancing the warning system with multiple alerts, dashboard visibility, and backup options would significantly improve the platform while maintaining the intended limitations of trial accounts.
Hopefully, the team considers this seriously, as it would be a meaningful upgrade that benefits both new and experienced users alike.

Cloudways should improve its trial expiration warnings by sending more reminder emails before server deletion. Extra alerts like 24-hour, 12-hour, and 2-hour notices would help users protect their work and avoid data loss.

I completely agree with this feedback. For many users, trial servers are actively used as development or staging environments, and losing them due to a single early warning can be very costly.
A 3-day prior email alone is easy to miss, especially if the email goes to spam or the user is busy. Adding multiple reminders (for example at 24 hours, 12 hours, and a final 1–2 hours before deletion) would significantly reduce accidental data loss and frustration.
Even better would be:
Dashboard alerts inside the Cloudways console
An option to pause deletion or extend the trial once
Clear visual countdown warnings on the server page
This small improvement would greatly enhance user experience and prevent unnecessary loss of development work, while still keeping trial limitations in place.

I totally agree—Cloudways really needs more frequent warnings before trial servers get automatically deleted. Just one email, even three days ahead, isn’t enough. I’d love to see notifications at 24 hrs, 12 hrs, and even 2 hrs before deletion to give folks a fair chance to back up their work. I’ve had a sketchy close call where the dashboard already said the trial ended a day early! (See others raising the same concern.)

I totally agree. We got an email stating it would expire on July 24th, but when I went to work on it, the Cloudways dashboard said it had already expired, but it's only July 23rd! I was able to still get into the site I was building (to save a backup), but that was not a good experience. We host dozens of sites with Cloudways, so we do need this to be better. We're adding new client sites on Cloudways all the time and generally love Cloudways, but if this becomes a regular thing we will be forced to rethink it.
