4. Astra Customizer Returns a 500 Error on Cloudways

   I’m facing a WordPress issue with the Astra theme at Custom stickers and labels website https://printinbudget.com/, where the Customizer sometimes remains stuck on a loading screen and eventually returns a 500 Internal Server Error. The issue is happening on my website printinbudget.com, while the frontend continues to load normally. The problem seems to be limited to Appearance → Customize and related AJAX requests in the WordPress admin.

   I cleared the browser cache and purged the available WordPress/server cache, but the issue still occurs. I also disabled optimization and minification settings temporarily to rule out JavaScript or CSS conflicts. When I switch from Astra to a default WordPress theme, the Customizer loads normally, which makes me suspect an interaction between Astra and the current server configuration.

   I checked the browser Developer Tools and noticed that some Customizer-related AJAX requests fail during loading. I’m wondering if this could be caused by PHP memory limits, PHP workers, Varnish/Breeze caching, ModSecurity, or another server-level configuration. I have not made any major changes to the Astra theme itself before this started happening.

   Could someone advise which Cloudways logs or server settings I should check first? I would particularly like to know if there are recommended Cloudways settings for Astra's WordPress Customizer, or whether specific AJAX/Customizer requests need to bypass caching or security rules.    The request:
   Allow the Cloudflare Enterprise add-on to onboard a wildcard *.mydomain.com as a single custom hostname — so every existing and future subdomain of a customer's domain is served through the Enterprise edge automatically, without adding hostnames one by one.

   The use case (growing fast in SEO publishing):
   Many high-traffic content and software-download sites use a "keyword-first subdomain" architecture, where every article lives on its own subdomain (e.g. program-name.mysite.com). Sites like this create hundreds of new subdomains per month, automatically on publish. Individual hostname onboarding makes the Enterprise add-on unusable for this entire category of sites — there is no fixed list of subdomains to add.

   Why it's technically feasible:
   Cloudflare for SaaS already supports wildcard custom hostnames on Cloudflare Enterprise plans (the tier the Cloudways add-on is built on). This is an existing upstream capability — the request is to expose it in the Cloudways integration, even as an opt-in per application.

   Business impact for Cloudways:
   I run exactly this architecture. I wanted to pay for the Enterprise add-on, but after your support team confirmed wildcard onboarding isn't possible (ticket, Aug 2026), I migrated my DNS to a standard Cloudflare account where proxied wildcard records work on the free plan. Every publisher with a subdomain-per-page architecture will make the same choice — this limitation actively pushes revenue away from the add-on. Wildcard support would make the add-on the obvious choice instead.

   Acceptance criteria:
   - Add *.domain.com in Domain Management → Enterprise edge serves any subdomain with valid SSL, no per-hostname steps
   - New subdomains work instantly when DNS resolves (no provisioning step per publish)

    We host our WordPress website on Cloudways. We also have Cloudflare and Site Manager through Cloudways.

    It would be fantastic to have better security features through Cloudways or Site Manager to monitor inactive user accounts and have them auto disable after a period of inactive i.e one month of inactive use, the account is disabled.

17. Breeze Page Preloading feature

    It would be great if Breeze could preload all pages once you cleared the cache or made updates. Now it just caches pages that have been visited by users. So the first user will still have a slow expierience. Only if you go to already visited pages it will be faster.
    WP Rocket preloads all pages and then its fast for anyone who visits the page, so it would be great if Breeze could also have this feature

18. Plugin to purge specific Cloudflare cache pages that got changed without Breeze

    At the moment you can either use Breeze or manually purge CF cache when editing a page and updating it. We cannot use Breeze as it conflicts with an important payment plugin and I actually don't need Breeze.

    But now I keep have to purge the complete CF cache as I do not use Breeze. But a simple small Plugin that purges the CF cache of that specific page I updated what be very easy to build and really helpful for people who dont use Breeze.

19. German Website randomly breaks due to caching even without Cloudflare

    Hi Cloudways Team,

    I'm experiencing a very frustrating caching issue with my WordPress website: https://biografieblick.de/.

    The strange part is that I'm not using Cloudflare at all, but the website still randomly serves broken pages. Sometimes the layout breaks, CSS does not load correctly, fonts become oversized, or the page appears partially unstyled. After clearing the cache, the website works normally again, but the issue eventually returns.

    This makes me believe there is a problem with one of the server-side caching layers such as Varnish, Redis, Object Cache, or another cache mechanism.

    What I've noticed:

    Website randomly breaks without making any changes.
    Purging the cache fixes the problem temporarily.
    The issue comes back after some time.
    No Cloudflare is connected to this website.
    This creates a poor experience for visitors because they may see a broken website before I notice it.

    I've also seen other Cloudways users report similar issues involving broken layouts that are temporarily fixed by clearing cache, so it doesn't appear to be an isolated case.

    I would really appreciate it if Cloudways could:

    Investigate the root cause of these recurring cache issues.
    Improve automatic cache invalidation.
    Provide better debugging tools to identify which cache layer is serving outdated files.
    Add logging so users can see whether Varnish, Object Cache, Redis, or another layer is causing the issue.

    A managed hosting platform should not require users to manually purge caches whenever the website randomly becomes broken.

    Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions or a permanent solution would be greatly appreciated.

It would be valuable if Cloudways included a built-in Core Web Vitals dashboard with recommendations to improve page speed, image loading, and mobile performance.
