6. Syncing application similar to Local

   It would be great to have a local dev environment like Local used by WP Engine and Flywheel. We manage ok now using git but this would be helpful.

7. Automate "under attack" mode on Cloudflare CDN

   It would be handy, to be able to automate putting site's in "under attack" mode on Cloudflare.

   We have a specific site that experiences strange credit card attacks, where thousands of charge requests are made at random points in the day (but generally out of standard office hours).

   Attack mode stops these requests, but in this mode prevents WooCommerce from synching with the clients QuickBooks account processing software.

   It would be really handy if we could automate the attack mode, so that it can be configured to switch on during out of office hours and over weekends.

   The attack mode doesn't seem to impact orders being generated, but does prevent the attacker from abusing my clients site.

   Having to enable the attack mode manually each day is a pain, so some automation would really help us.

12. WordPress real environment detection (prod/staging/dev)

    I can't put into words how important this is and why it is drastically needed. I will break this down from a few angles and explain the problem and why it is under the radar. So please bare with me, bit of a long one.

    The first context, as an agency WordPress dev I need a straight forward way of separating logic for different environments typically for bespoke data syncs and safe guards from WordPress executing production based code on a test site. A classic case is WordPress sending emails connected to a SMPTP endpoint on a CRON job on a dev/staging site for example cloned from live. Hoping I don’t need to explain why that is really bad. With environment locks it can be prevented easily with safe guarding controls.

    WordPress has built a function for this into the core almost 5 years ago. The function is called wpgetenvironment_type(). The way this works is it reads an env variable set via the web server or the fpm pool and accesses the defined environment by using getenv(). If this can’t be read it defaults to production. This needs to be defined effective immediately which should be at the application server level.

    There's currently no support for wpgetenvironment_type() on CW. The function reads an environment variable using getenv which can either be set via an nginx, apache param or inside the fpm pool. Currently can’t set custom env variables on CW and can't alter webserver config. Meaning this can’t be set in the correct way. Instead developers have to define this inside the wp-config file using a define statement which is setup by WP as a backup method. This however is flawed as a site clone would knock this out. Someone is going to forget to add an exclusion path or by mistake remove the define statement in wp-config.php and it’s an accident waiting to happen. All of a sudden your dev/staging site is in production mode.

    Over time more and more plugins are now using the wpgetenvironment_type() function. The biggest being Yoast SEO and they have an article on that here https://developer.yoast.com/customization/yoast-seo/wp-get-environment-type-in-yoast-seo/. That plugin is on millions of installs.

    This is an issue specific to devs that dealing with business sites with complex solutions. This is a very small subset of a subset of CW customers. But the ones it does affect it’s a real nightmare.

    The best way forward is to add the env declaration on the fpm pool so something like env[WPENVIRONMENTTYPE] = development for example. The reason for this is the webserver route won’t catch devs making custom WP CLI commands and because it defaults to production lets say you have a CLI command that runs a process that sends data to an API and your testing it, if it’s missing the env declaration it will default to production. If your authentication keys and endpoints are swapped via env checking you’re gonna run into a lot of problems.

    Outside of very small low risk websites I can’t see how I can put sites onto Cloudways or recommend to clients. It’s very frustrating given other providers have this sorted as part of their tech stack and done it a number of years ago.

13. let us create application presets

    Whenever we create a new application can there be a way we add on our proprietary collection of plugins we always add for every new application? We add 7+ plugins every time we spin up a new application and we have some settings we change as well. It would be nice to be able to have a option to have an option to have a pre-set environment from the get go and not to have to customize every new application with settings changes and plugins.

15. Need a way to see rabbitmq queue information

    Currently we do not have any way of seeing the status of the queues - how many messages are hanging.

    Tried it over CLI, but did not work too:
    /usr/lib/rabbitmq/bin/rabbitmqctl list_queues
    Error: unable to perform an operation on node 'rabbitmq@localhost'. Please see diagnostics information and suggestions below.

17. DNS specifications in Cloudflare CNAME popup window confusing

    I spent 30 minutes on CS today because of the UI design for the popup in question. it is not apparent when reading the additional information that A records are listed in the drop-down. It is not obvious that you should click to drop it
    down. Consider listing A recs more blatantly.

    Right now, Cloudways doesn't allow an email to be connected to more than one account even as a user. Please, please, pretty please, make it so that one email can be added as a user to unlimited accounts. I refer many of my clients to Cloudways to open an account and then I need access via Team > Add User but I have to use a different email for each client account!

19. Cloudways Migrator - Partially transfer

    On new projects we get we usually transfer the site over if its a Woocommerce site or Booking site. Then we do the design changes and when its ready to launch we have to manually transfer orders, cutomers, products and such. Would be nice to just sync those in a second transfer. So partially sync of some tables/images before launch of the site. So no data is lost for the customer. Its usually fast if its just a transfer of a site with no editing, transfer, close old site and then do a new transfer. Is it possible in the Cloudways Migration plugin in the future?

    I wanted to make a list of the applications/sites that I currently run on my server, so an API endpoint to get a list of applications with details such as app_id, primary domain, created date, project and the like would be a neat addition for those managing large number of apps/wp-sites in a server
