  1. Flexible performance optimization tools

One improvement that could really help many Cloudways users is adding more flexible performance optimization tools directly within the dashboard. For example, built-in website speed analysis, automated caching suggestions, and clearer server resource monitoring (CPU, RAM, and bandwidth) would make it easier for users to identify and fix performance issues without relying on multiple external tools.

Another helpful feature could be temporary server scaling for short traffic spikes, allowing users to boost resources for a limited time instead of upgrading the entire plan.

I run a small content site as well (https://dubaiarchives.com/), and features like these would make…

  2. Built-in Download Optimization & File Delivery System for High-Traffic Sites

Browsing these Cloudways improvement suggestions really shows how much users value flexibility and better performance controls in hosting environments. I’ve noticed a similar challenge when managing high-traffic content sites where visitors frequently download files. On gaming-related pages like https://zombiecatchersmodapk.com/, Fast delivery and stable bandwidth are essential. A built-in download optimization or smarter file delivery system could help reduce server load, improve download speeds, and create a smoother experience for users during traffic spikes.

  3. Granular Team Permission Management by Project

Currently, assigning team member permissions requires selecting each application individually, which is time-consuming for accounts managing multiple servers and applications. It would be significantly more efficient to allow admins to assign permissions at the project level, automatically granting access to all applications and servers within that project in one action.
This would benefit agencies and freelancers who regularly onboard new team members or clients with scoped access needs — reducing setup time and minimizing the risk of misconfigured permissions.

  4. Smarter Staging Sync: Selective Push to Live

When pushing a staging environment to production, it would be extremely useful to have granular control over what gets synced — for example, choosing to push only file changes, only database changes, or specific directories, while excluding others (such as uploads or cache folders).
Currently, a full sync can be risky for live sites with active user-generated content. A selective push workflow would significantly reduce deployment risk, give developers more confidence, and align Cloudways with how modern CI/CD pipelines actually work.
This would be a major quality-of-life improvement for agencies and developers managing multiple client sites.

  5. Add Team-Based Access Control with Role Permissions per Application

Currently, team member access in Cloudways applies broadly across the account. It would be highly valuable to allow granular, per-application role assignments — for example, granting a developer full SSH and deployment access to one app while restricting them to read-only monitoring on another.
This would benefit agencies and teams managing multiple clients, where each client's environment needs to remain isolated and secure. Role options could include: Owner, Developer, Viewer, and Billing-Only. This kind of fine-grained access control is a standard expectation in professional hosting environments and would significantly reduce security risks caused by over-permissioned team accounts.

  6. Suggestion: Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) for Team Collaboration

Managing servers across multiple team members currently lacks granular permission control. I'd love to see a built-in Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) system that lets account owners assign specific roles — such as Developer, Billing Manager, or Read-Only Viewer — with clearly defined permissions per server or application.
This would reduce security risks from over-privileged accounts, improve team workflows, and make Cloudways a far more enterprise-ready platform. Many teams today rely on shared credentials as a workaround, which is both a security and accountability concern.
A simple roles matrix in the dashboard would go a long way.

  7. Add Real-Time Resource Usage Alerts with Custom Thresholds

It would be very helpful to have a built-in alerting system that allows users to set custom thresholds for key server metrics — such as CPU usage, RAM consumption, disk space, and bandwidth. When a threshold is breached, an instant notification should be sent via email, Slack, or SMS.
Currently, users have to rely on third-party monitoring tools or manually check the dashboard to catch performance issues before they escalate. A native, configurable alert system would enable faster incident response, reduce unexpected downtime, and give developers and agencies greater confidence in managing multiple servers from a single platform.
    This feature…

  8. Allow Custom Cron Job Scheduling Per Application

Currently, Cloudways offers basic cron job support, but there's no intuitive, per-application interface to manage, schedule, and monitor cron jobs directly from the dashboard. Adding a dedicated cron job manager — with options to set custom intervals, view execution logs, and receive failure notifications — would greatly benefit developers running scheduled tasks like cache clearing, report generation, or database maintenance.
This would reduce reliance on server-level SSH access for routine automation and make the platform more accessible to non-technical users managing WordPress or other CMS-based applications.

  9. Add Granular Resource Monitoring with Alerting Thresholds

One feature that would significantly improve the Cloudways experience is a more granular, real-time resource monitoring dashboard with customizable alerting thresholds.
Currently, while basic server metrics are available, there is no straightforward way to set automated alerts when CPU usage, RAM consumption, or disk I/O exceeds a defined limit. For developers and agencies managing multiple servers, this creates a reactive rather than proactive workflow — issues are often discovered only after they have already impacted site performance or caused downtime.
A robust monitoring and alerting system could include the following capabilities:

        ul { list-style-type: disc; }
        ul ul { list-style-type:

  10. Staging environment improvements are long overdue.

Staging environment improvements are long overdue. The push/pull limitation for subfolder WordPress installations is a real pain point for developers managing multi-site setups. Alongside this, preserving WP-CLI error logs after SafeUpdates cleanup would save hours of troubleshooting. Time-zone-aware backup scheduling is also a practical necessity for global teams. These aren't just nice-to-haves — they directly impact workflow reliability and client management efficiency.

  12. VPS vs managed database?

Hey everyone, Trying to make my first webapp and was wanting to know if I should just split up the db to a managed db Escape Tsunami for Brainrots, or could I keep it on one VPS monolithic style and switch later if I needed?

  13. Allow Reset File/Folders Permissions to Work in private_html

Not all of us are using WordPress or something that has to go in the public_html folder.

We're working on a slim app that is completely housed in private_html. It communicates to our soon to be new plugin on a different domain (domain instead of the subdomain we use for the private app).

I know support can do this for us but it would be so much easier for your clients if you just expanded your utility,

  14. Optimized Hosting Stack for High-Traffic Football Streaming & Live Score Platforms

Many football-focused platforms experience massive traffic spikes during major matches, especially when fans access live streams, real-time stats, and match updates simultaneously. It would be great if Cloudways could introduce a pre-configured “High-Traffic Sports Stack” optimized for video-heavy and live-update websites, including advanced caching rules, Redis tuning, and automatic vertical scaling during match-time surges.

This would help streaming and football content platforms maintain performance, reduce downtime, and handle sudden global traffic bursts more efficiently without manual server adjustments. Platforms like (https://yacinetvapk.vip/) could greatly benefit from such optimizations.

  16. Cloudways Server Down Time – How to Minimize the Impact?

I’ve been using Cloudways for a few months now, and overall, the experience has been great. However, recently I’ve noticed a couple of instances where my server has experienced downtime for brief periods, which affects my site’s availability. I understand that no server is 100% uptime, but I’m wondering if there are any best practices to minimize the impact or prevent these downtimes from happening so frequently. geometry dash free

  17. Issue with Slow Page Load After Switching to Cloudways – Any Optimization Tips?

I recently migrated my website to Cloudways, hosting on a DigitalOcean server, but I’ve noticed that my page load times have increased compared to my previous provider. I’ve tried optimizing images and enabled caching, but the performance still seems slower than expected, especially during peak traffic times.geometry dash meltdown

  18. Add API endpoint to list apps and app details

There is currently no API endpoint to list applications, either by account or by server.

This would help your users be able to provide reporting on our Cloudways usage in automated ways.
