Allow Custom Root Directory Name When Creating a New Application
When creating a new application, Cloudways automatically generates a random root directory name. Although it is possible to rename the application directory later via Application Settings, the original default directory still remains on the server and cannot be deleted.
As a result, two directories exist for a single application. This becomes a management issue when creating multiple applications or subdomains. For example, if I create 30 subdomains, there will be 60 directories on the server, which makes server management confusing and inefficient.

How do you manage database access?
I've worked at a few different companies. Each place had a different approach for sharing database credentials for on-call staff for troubleshooting/support.
Each team had a set of read-only credentials, but credentials were openly shared (usually on a public password manager Geometry Dash) and not rotated often. Most of them required VPNs though.
I'm building a tool for managed, credential-less database access (will not promote here).
I'm curious to know what are the other best practices that teams follow?

It would be very helpful to have an option in Staging / Cloning that allows excluding specific directories or files.
Many projects contain large folders like cache, backups, logs, or media that don’t need to be cloned every time.
An exclude option would reduce cloning time, save server resources, and improve workflow efficiency.
This feature would be especially useful for large applications and service portals.

I’d like to suggest an improvement around server monitoring and alerts. The current monitoring is helpful, but it would be great to have more granular, real-time alert options that users can customize in detail.
For example:
Separate alert thresholds for short spikes vs sustained high usage (CPU/RAM/disk I/O)
More control over alert frequency to avoid notification spam
Ability to create custom alerts based on combined conditions (e.g. high CPU and slow response time)
This would be especially useful for production sites where brief traffic spikes are normal, but longer performance degradation needs immediate attention.
