1. Backup Flexibility (A practical request for cost and storage management)

   Right now, the backup retention policy applies universally. It would be amazing if we could configure Cloudways to keep only 2–3 days of automated backups locally on the server disk (for https://basketrandom.com ), while pushing and retaining a full 14 or 30 days of backups to the offsite Cloudways external backup storage (or custom Amazon S3/DigitalOcean Spaces).

   This would help optimize local server disk space heavily on smaller instances while still maintaining a robust disaster recovery archive. Are there any plans to decouple local and offsite backup schedules?

3. Lighting stack conflicts with WP rocket cache

   WP Rocket plugin is the most popular caching plugin in Wordpress system. it relies on .htaccess file to be functional. Lightning stack doesn't work with .htaccess file. switching to lightning stack will cause a lot of slow queries until the server's reaching full CPU utilization or full RAM.    Many deployment issues aren't caused by server configuration, they're caused by outdated or mismatched frontend assets (CSS, JavaScript, fonts, etc.) that continue to be served after a deployment.

   It would be very useful if Cloudways added an Asset Version Comparison tool within the application dashboard.

   The feature could:

   Compare asset hashes before and after deployment.
   Show whether CSS/JS files are being served from the latest deployment.
   Detect stale assets still being delivered because of cache or CDN propagation.
   Display response headers (ETag, Cache-Control, Last-Modified) for static files.
   Allow developers to test a URL from multiple edge locations.

   I recently investigated this type of issue on a JavaScript-based web application where users access a work-hours calculator: https://mauricettecalcul.fr/

   The server deployment completed successfully, but identifying whether visitors were receiving the latest frontend assets required checking browser developer tools, cache headers, and CDN responses manually.

   Having these diagnostics directly inside Cloudways would save a significant amount of troubleshooting time after deployments, especially for agencies managing multiple applications.

I experienced an issue where contact form submissions from https://fencingcamden.com.au/services/aluminium-fencing/ were not reaching my Zoho Mail inbox while hosted on Cloudways. After moving the same website and keeping the exact same Zoho Mail settings on another host, email delivery started working correctly.

15. OPcache interned_strings_buffer

    Currently opcache total memory size can be tuned via the UI, but not the interned strings buffer, which is another performance knob that normally people suggest to raise alongside total cache size.

    It would be nice to also allow tweaking of opcache.internedstringsbuffer via the UI (perhaps in power-of-two increments - 8M (default), 16MB, 32MB, ...) which can become performance-critical when hosting many or bigger sites. Currently the 8M option is limiting when the cache size is >=128M and hit rate is still at 50%.

    I would like to suggest a few improvements for the Flexible product that could make server management and scaling even more efficient for users.

    1. More granular resource scaling
       It would be helpful to allow users to adjust CPU, RAM, and storage independently without requiring full server plan changes. This would give better cost control for growing projects.

    2. Real-time cost preview
       Before applying changes, a live cost estimator showing updated monthly billing would improve transparency and help users make better decisions.

    3. Temporary resource boost option
       A short-term “burst mode” for CPU/RAM (hourly or daily billing) would be useful for traffic spikes, campaigns, or seasonal workloads.

    4. Enhanced usage analytics
       More detailed breakdowns of resource usage per application or site would help developers optimize performance more effectively.

    5. Faster scaling transitions
       Reducing downtime or delay when upgrading/downgrading resources would improve user experience, especially for live production sites.

    Cloudways already provides a strong managed hosting experience, and these enhancements would make the Flexible system even more powerful and developer-friendly.
