  1. Two step verification - Sms instead of scanning bar code

Instead of only scanning bar code, I would request you to add sms msg for this as all smartphones are not supportive. Thanks

  2. Delete multiple app on a server in one go

We usually create multiple clones on the main app for dev/staging purpose. When we want to get rid of them, it is a pain to delete them one by one. Each staging takes about 2 to 5 minutes.

Could you please add the option of deleting multiple apps in one go?

  3. Allow Mysql Server to be accessed through jdbc

Currently a mysql server can only be accessed through cloudway's own editor "Click&Go SQL Manager"

Adding support for jdbc, would mean that you won't have to use the first party editor. You could use any other 3rd party applications (PHPStorm. DataGrip) to edit/view/manage your sql database

JDBC can also be used in java applications and much much more

  4. Allow changing Wordpress admin credentials and make default password stronger

Admin Area Access credentials for Wordpress are not correct when cloning a website. This causes confusion on what the correct password is. Also, when adding an application, the default password created for wordpress credentials are rather weak. Would like ability to set more secure password and also change/sync a password with Admin Area Access details so that this information could be shared among admin staff.

  5. Email forwarding option with Rackspace Hosted Email

I use the rackspace addon and have 7 maiboxes, covering 3 domains.

Because the email is with rackspace I have set my Mx records to use their servers, however there is no option for auto responders, catchall or most importantly email forwarding.

Im able to forward from a mailbox to another account, but I cannot just have a simple forward. This is very restrictive because it means for each email address I want to use I have to buy another mailbox, even if no mail ever sits in the box.

    As an example I have
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    all of…

  8. Allow server timezone settings to automatically adjust for BST (summer time change)

In Ireland and the Uk the clock changes twice a year to adjust for BST which becomes GMT+1 this means the server timezone for all apps running London/Dublin location become inaccurate by an hour.

So it would be better if server time zone could match site application time zone (eg Drupal timezone) or else if server timezone can automatically adjust for BST changes.

  10. Static HTML stack

We'd quite like the ability to specify a HTML-only stack with PHP disabled and no database. While this might seem an odd request, we sometimes have the need for temporary holding sites, additional sub-sites, etc. It's potentially also of use with headless CMS sites. Having related sites on the same server / within the same interface is useful.

While I realise we can use the PHP install for this, I'd prefer something that has code execution properly disabled from the start.

  11. Provide hosting services based in South Africa

South African companies should not hold any personal identifying data outside of South Africa .... according to the POPI act (Protection Of Private Information)
Amazon (AWS) are apparently setting up in South Africa at the moment. Please add a South African city as an option

  13. Informational webpage displaying all installed tools on the servers

It's great to discover that we have pre-installed tools such as Git and Composer on the PHP stack servers, but I can't seem to find an up to date webpage that lists all of the current tools installed. If there is not a page for this, could we have one made? It would help with forward planning and knowing which servers support which tools.

  15. Create a vagrant file so we can replicate the server locally

Not sure if this should go in stacks or server settings.

Anyway for us developers it would be really good to be able to use a vagrant file to spin up a local copy of your server with settings so we can build on the exact same platform as live.

Vagrant is a quick and easy way to share virtual machines, and would allow developers to develop tools on a platform which matches live.

Thanks Paul. Would a docker image suit the same needs?. Assume so. We are leaning towards it for the exact same problem you mention.

  16. Provide EU location for Rackspace emails

It would be great if you could specify where the emails servers were located for the Rackspace add on.

Currently I believe they store all their email accounts in Virginia, but maybe some pressure from one of their big resellers to also provide a location in EU would be beneficial.

Some organisations would need to have their emails stored within the EU and not on US servers.

    Hi Paul,

Understand your problem but don’t think we are big enough to put the kind of pressure needed for this. Currently they only offer mailboxes in US and, for what we know, have no plans to support mailboxes in EU.

In any case, we have raised this already with our Rackspace manager and will add the feature as soon as they have it available.

  18. preconfigured hosting plan with affiliate code

Would be good if there would be a way for me to preconfigure a hosting plan to then link to for my client to sign up with using my affiliate code. Basically, I want to choose the server host, the location, and the plan size. Then have a link to that which I can send to my client.

  19. PLEASE add Email Forwarding!

All other hosts very easily allow you to add a forwarding email address. I dont see any option to add a forwarding email address. Except to buy an actual email box (which I dont need) for $1 each a month.

  20. Ability to upload or enter .env information

Be able to upload a .env file, or enter the .env key/pair values in the console. Many frameworks (such as Laravel) utilise the .env file to change configuration between dev and prod, and they should never be pushed via git.
